Howdy!

Hi! I hope your summer is going well, and you're staying cool! We have been busy!! We are getting use to Temple and it is starting to feel like home. We have spent a lot of time on the lake and at the water park. I'm so grateful the kids love it here. So much to do and the people are so darn sweet. It's not uncommon for us to go out and eat and by the end of our meal someone comes up to introduce themselves and makes us feel so welcome. Thanks Temple!!

Speaking of home, we have some projects going. I can't wait to get this house all fixed up. We are just going room by room, so I will show as we go :) Really the only rooms that need updating are the bathrooms, and that's what we are working on. My sweet momma is here this week to help. We just love it when she's here. Seems like everything is just a little more special. Anyway, I'll give you a sneak peak at what we are up against this week (sorry the pics aren't that great)...

I have a problem

Well, I have several problems.

I can't find my dang camera which makes me say bad words!! I've gone through all the boxes and crap lying around...nothing!! Of all things, my camera :(

My other problem is I AM addicted to ice coffee! It's the first thing I think about when I wake up and the last thing when I go to bed. This week Lyssa and I experimented on making the perfect ice coffee. We succeeded!! I would have taken pictures, but well you know. First, we researched and got lots of good ideas but this is what we did...

We found a BIG bag of coffee at Sam's. In a big plastic container we put 1 quart of coffee and added five quarts of water. Then we put the lid on it and let it sit for 8 hours. After it looked good and dark brown we ran it through a strainer and cheese cloth into another plastic container. We squeezed the cheese cloth to get every last drop of coffee. Then we put it into another plastic container with a spout so we could have easy access to our coffee at any point during the day.

Now, here comes the good part. Get a big ol' glass and fill it to the top with ice then fill it with half coffee and the rest with half and half. Sometimes we add a little french vanilla creamer and agave nectar. It is the perfect ice coffee. We haven't tried this yet but we ran across a recipe that added a tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk along with the half and half....delish. It said the coffee would last for a month in the fridge.
Try it right away!
I'll keep looking for my camera...

Home Again, Home Again

We sold, bought, moved, and are now unpacking!

Thanks for all the prayers...everything went well!

When I find my camera I will take lots of pictures.

I love, love, love this house! With a few updates, it's going to be AWESOME!

I'll post pictures soon ;)
